Bring Your Dreams to Life

Landscaping shouldn’t be an afterthought. A well-planned outdoor living space can completely transform a home, increasing functionality, curb appeal, and property value. Bella Terra’s expert installation projects start with thoughtful designs that consider your preferences, existing architecture, and lifestyle needs. With an extensive knowledge of local municipality code and HOA requirements, we will make the design and installation process seamless. Our well-trained crews will work diligently with respect for your property and the utmost attention to detail from start to finish.
Our Process

Step #1 Consultation
Following receipt of your consultation fee and
signed consultation contract, a meeting will be scheduled at your home with one of our designers to evaluate site conditions, discuss the scope of work and establish a realistic target budget. Consultations can also be done virtually to expedite the design process.
Step #2 Design
Following the consultation, you will receive
the contract for design services. Once we receive payment in full, your designer will begin the process. You will be emailed the first draft of your drawing and be given the opportunity to schedule either a virtual or in person design presentation before finalizing the plan.
Step #3 Proposal
Once the design revisions are complete, you will be sent an estimate you’re your landscape installation. We require a signed contract and 40% deposit to secure a spot on the schedule. At that point in time, our production manager will add your project to the queue, obtain any necessary permits, and order materials.
Step #4 Installation
A dedicated project manager will be assigned to
your installation and will oversee the crews on site. Your designer or salesperson will be on hand as needed to provide guidance, answer questions or
make adjustments via change order.
Step #5 Maintenance
Once your installation is complete, having a maintenance program in place is vital. Our landscape maintenance division offers a full range of property management services including but not limited to mowing, edging, mulching, and pruning. Lighting and irrigation maintenance packages are also available where applicable.
Design Services
Our award-winning design team has years of experience working in our unique microclimate. Navigating challenges such as wind, salt spray, sandy soils, clay soils, deer pressure, poor drainage, lot coverage requirements, HOA bylaws, and city code are all part of the in-depth design and planning process. We are able to provide you with a drawing that takes all of those elements into account while also including your personal needs and budget. The more detail and information that you can offer to us during the consultation, the better we can serve you. Your design fee is paying for the expertise that our designers bring to the table including their formal education, on-site experience, continued education, certifications, connections with trusted local subcontractors, and personal design aesthetic. The final product will be a beautiful, functional, scaled drawing that can be used for both approval and construction.
Softscaping
Softscape involves the living elements of your landscape and the preparation associated with installing it all properly. This can include drainage to control stormwater, grading and enhancement of your native soils. Our designers will be able to identify the need for these items on your property during the consultation and will take them all into consideration when selecting which plants will be most suitable for your site. The softscape component of a landscape tends to be ever-changing and will require regular maintenance so your desired level of care will be taken into account. Plant material can serve a number of critical functions in an outdoor living space. Softening your home’s appearance, adding textural variation, fragrance, color and seasonal interest are key. Your softscape also has the potential to contribute to local ecosystem by providing shelter and nutrition for wildlife.

Hardscaping
While softscape design tends to have an effect on the overall mood of the site, hardscape adds the functionality and structure to make the space usable for your family. Walkways, patios, pergolas, fire features, kitchens, driveways, and retaining walls can expand your living area from inside to outside and help you connect with nature. Our designs include just the right balance of both softscape and hardscape and take every square foot of your property into account. Hardscape elements tend to have a good return on investment, especially in our beach resort community where visitors want to spend most of their time outside of the house enjoying the weather. Our hardscapes can include concrete interlocking pavers, natural stone pavers, boulders, gravel and more.

Drainage Installation
Drainage services are an essential part of maintaining a healthy and functional outdoor environment. Effective drainage systems help prevent water damage to property, erosion, and soil saturation, while also preventing the growth of mold and mildew. Drainage services typically involve a thorough assessment of the landscape to identify areas that may be prone to excess water buildup, such as low-lying areas or areas with poor soil drainage. Once identified, the drainage experts will work to design and install a custom drainage system that will effectively redirect water away from the property and prevent damage to the landscape. These services can range from simple solutions like installing catch basins and drainage pipes to more complex systems like French drains and dry wells. Overall, landscape drainage services are an essential investment for any property owner looking to maintain a healthy, functional, and beautiful outdoor space.

I live in a townhome in Lewes and had a lovely pumpkin vine, full of blooms -- I have been nurturing it and just waiting for all the pumpkins.
The landscapers were trimming the large shrubs behind my pumpkin vine--- and trimmed my vine!! One small vine was left, the poor flowers all trampled on the ground... no pumpkins for me.
I understand that it was an accident: I don't blame the landscapers so much. But when I called they office, they were friendly until they discovered I just rent at a townhouse ("That is a commercial property, ma'am") and took no responsibility for the problem. They brushed me off by saying they had already spoken to their guys and that my plant is "Fine".
I guess if you're not a wealthy customer, they don't take responsibility for their actions. I recommend you find a landscaper with more integrity.
I highly recommend Bella Terra and their Staff for any irrigation and or landscaping needs you may have. They are definitely my go to from here forward. So stop on by today and tell them I sent you.
Danny is just all around a pleasant guy and he deserves a raise! 🙂
Keeping at 3 stars. But frustrated that they sold me a diseased Dapple Willow and are not responding to my calls or emails. Won't be purchasing with them anymore.
2022:
Not sure where to start ... I guess I'll start by saying that a lot of things were over-promised and grossly under delivered... To the tune of almost $7k !
Great intentions by Bella Terra but in the end my experience was less than good.
Even after the project was done, and given all the challenges that we had leading up to that, they still came back and refused to replace 4 of the plants that were very sickly looking. 2 beach grasses we're overrun with crab grass and 2 of the barberry bushes were sickly looking .. very small and immature with very few leaves (see pictures).
What professional landscaping company doesn't certify their work and product? Well, Bella Terra clearly does not. And for this reason I will not be recommending them or going back for further work.
Overpriced. Unprofessional. Sub-par product. But I guess that's what you get when you try to use their maintenance crew (Danny and team) to design and deliver new landscape ideas and products.
It's possible that the other reviews below were against their professional landscaping division and not against the maintenance division.
My bad for thinking I could get quality work and product from a lawn maintenance crew.
Garrett has been a fantastic overall manager and follows up carefully with all of your team members to make sure that the various items are accomplished. He is personable, friendly, and committed to getting the job done right and I really appreciate that very much.
Of course, Chris expertly manages the team that comes to the house on a week to week basis. And they always do a great job in executing.
Excited for another season in Rehoboth. Thanks again for the excellent work from Bella Terra.
It’s a shame that Bella Terra has so much business that they can basically tell their customers “too bad” and thumb their noses at us…. “not under warranty”…I say there are other better landscaping companies that stand by their reputation and their products. Bella Terra has lost my business….. Even Home Depot will warranty their trees for a year! don’t shop at Bella Terra! they are too big for their own britches or is it Birches…..
Thank you install team of DJ, Greg, Mike, Nick and Annibal and irrigation team of Tony, Oscar, Julio, Romeo, Chris and Mario. You are all a great asset to Bella Terra!
Justin is also available & eager to attend to maintenance issues
She came out today and walked the property with us to help us figure out how to add some more plants to our year old landscape design. We really appreciate Deb's advice and the fact that she responds in a timely manner. Any time we have had a problem over the past year Deb has quickly come on site and checked it out. Deb gives the kind of service we hoped for by contracting with your service department. Kudos!
I was so impressed by the workmanship of Tony and other crew members. They all worked very well as a team and maintained a steady pace all day, every day. It was apparent that they knew exactly what to do and how to do it. At the end of each day, the the work site was always cleaned and cleared of any debris or equipment. The entire crew were polite and respectful of our property.
The end product is a beautiful, transformed lawn with multiple plant and flower beds. Once work started, the project was on time and completed within the timeline proposed. At the end of the project, an appointment was made by Ken to explain the irrigation system and next steps for maintenance.
The final result is lovely, and I can't wait to see it next Spring.
The crew they sent was steadily hardworking, polite and neat.
I will use Bella Terra again as we continue to develop our landscape around the house.
Highly recommend them.
